The Prytania Theatre is the only Single-Screen Movie Theatre in Louisiana .  It is also the oldest operating theatre in New Orleans and was opened in 1915.  We have recently renovated the theatre and have new seating, a renovated Lobby and a new huge screen and state of the art sound and projection.  If that is not enough reason to make you come visit us; Here is another reason.   The owner, Mr. Rene Brunet, is recognized as an expert as a New Orleans Theatre Historian and can tell you almost anything about the 60+ neighborhood theatres in the New Orleans area; which are displayed on our lobby walls.
